Family vs “Family”
It has been a few crazy weeks at “Casa Knauff” and it has been all about family. First was the whirlwind trip to New Orleans with my son and then I spent a long weekend in my hometown celebrating my Dad’s 88th birthday with my parents and two of my siblings. As much as I loved spending time with my family, it did put me behind in both completing my painting and posting to the blog.
The beauty of family is that it comes in all types and while I was visiting my parents I was able to spend some time with a member of my “art family”, fellow CSA artist, Carmen Duran Zaleski. We spent a couple of wonderful hours sharing a bottle of wine, her artwork and a lot of creatively inspiring conversation (which did require us to do a little art supply shopping the following day 😉 ). Carmen also had some exciting art news to share but I will let her share that with her March photo next week.
My painting for March is complete and will soon be framed so that it can be included in a group exhibit by the NorthSide Artists Group (NSAG)Â being held at the Lakeview Library branch of the Madison Public Library from mid-April to the end of May. If you are in the neighborhood, please stop in and see it “live and in person” along with the art of my fellow NSAG members.
