By using easy to learn repetitive patterns and deliberate pen strokes, you will create an abstract piece of art while entering into a relaxed and focused meditative state. Zentangle® – The Adventure Continues

Build on the creative and relaxing designs learned in the Zentangle® Basics class. The first part of this Zentangle adventure includes learning new patterns, shading, and design enhancements to provide you with additional depth and understanding of the Zentangle process. During the second part of class, we will explore how the technique translates to white on black applications. You will learn the best patterns to showcase the beauty of white ink on a black background as well as the specialized techniques of shading and highlighting used with these unique art materials. Course fee includes a high quality supply kit containing all necessary art materials. This class may be offered as two evening classes or one extended afternoon class dependent on location.

Zentangle uses simple, repetitive patterns to create a piece of personal art while simultaneously releasing stress and promoting a sense of peace and focus. Zentangle provides artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well-being. Course fee includes a high quality supply kit containing all necessary art materials.

Zentangle® – Exploring the Dark Side

Go beyond the original Zentangle “black on white” process. Using black fine art paper die cut the same as the original Zentangle tiles, we will explore how the technique translates to white on black applications. You will learn the best patterns to showcase the beauty of white ink on a black background as well as the specialized techniques of shading and highlighting used with these unique art materials. Course fee includes a high quality supply kit containing all necessary art materials.

Zentangle® Inspired Snowflake Mandala

As the winter season approaches, many of us will be sending out cards and giving gifts. This class can reduce holiday stress by giving you some quality “me” time while creating a piece of art for use as a gift or as a card design. Nothing says “Winter in Wisconsin” like SNOW. We will take inspiration from nature and our childhoods as we use Zentangle techniques to create a mandala (a circular geometric design) from a paper snowflake. You will create a piece of art ready for framing and can optionally take home a digital image for making holiday cards.

Zentangle® Inspired Surface Treatments for Fabric

.In this class, the basic process used to create a Zentangle is translated to the surface of fabrics. Create unique fabric pieces which can be used in a variety of projects from quilts to bags. You will learn about several techniques and products that can be to alter fabrics using the same repetitive patterns found in Zentangle art. You will leave class with three pieces of “tangled” fabric and the skills to create future pieces that are limited only by your imagination.
